The focus has also shifted to understandings the mechanism of biological seal formed at soft tissue-implant interface, which acts as a barrier against external oral environment. Both the hard and soft tissue-implant interfaces are influenced by multiple factors, such as, the implant factors, surgical protocol, and host factors. The integrity of the tissue-implant interfaces can influence the success of dental implant treatment.
