Apart from this, mixing of rocuronium bromide with 7.5% sodium bicarbonate has also been found to enhance the potency and prolong the duration of action of rocuronium. From this it is concluded that the addition of 7.5% sodium bicarbonate to rocuronium, not only alleviated injection pain, but also, increased the potency of rocuronium and prolonged its duration of action in comparison to rocuronium alone.
