Therefore, the doctrine of Law and Economics, or what is known in Brazil as the Economic Analysis of Law, endeavours to incorporate economic concepts into legal science, making the appropriate methodological adjustments. What cannot be forgotten is that both law and economics play a leading role in building a fair, egalitarian society that seeks economic and social development. In other words, the law cannot be satisfied with the pursuit of formal justice alone, but must be guided by basic principles of efficiency and analysis of the impacts that judicial decisions have on the economic universe, avoiding economic collapse and legal insecurity.
