Dysphagia is defined as the sensation of impediment to the passage of liquid or solid material when it is swallowed.It is important to ensure that people with swallowing disorders are able to hydrate and feed themselves safely. As a result, a working group was set up in my department, of which I am a member, in order to respond to these needs.This work reinforces the importance of nursing participation in the rehabilitation of patients with dysphagia. Changes in swallowing are associated with high rates of morbidity and mortality, due to the associated risks: dehydration, malnutrition, aspiration pneumonia and death.
