Autor

Alicia J. Valentyn, born December 21, 1968 in Miami, Florida, is the youngest of six children from a family plagued by the chaos of alcoholism. After surviving a harrowing car accident in her youth and making an inspirational recovery, in 1997 she became the first, full-time female firefighter for a small fire district in the desert of Arizona. Today, Alicia lives in Portland, Oregon, where she enjoys bird watching, writing, and practicing yoga. She can often be found outside, hiking and chanting along a trail with her soulmate, George, and their two dogs, Gus and Cindy.
