This book brings continental theory into the conversation and explores the ethical dilemmas stemming from the emerging global political crises of migration, displacement and communal relocation related to climate change. It argues that in the era of anthropocentric climate change, an 'ethos of dwelling' must underpin adaptation practices. Detailed analyses of Bangladesh, the Torres Strait Islands, the United States and Queensland (Australia) demonstrate that diverse contexts require distinct critical vocabularies and interventions with which to deal with the challenges of climate change. Elaine Kelly is an independent scholar and writer living in Sydney.
