Dry eye or dry eye syndrome is a multifactorial disorder of the tears and ocular surface resulting in symptoms of discomfort, visual disturbances and instability of the tear film with potential damage to the ocular surface. Paradoxical lacrimation and sandy sensation were the most characteristic complaints of dry eye.The most common mixed type. Menopause had a strong correlation with the occurrence of ocular syndromesec. Other factors such as contact lens wear, prolonged use of unprotected computer monitors, air conditioning and blepharitis were associated with the risk of dry eye.
