Downtown faced a similar fate to many of MTV's other cartoons - it only lasted one season (13 episodes). While there is little hope for another season, there has been an outcry for a DVD release of the series since the show is currently not being broadcast. The use of an original score rather than licensed music would make such a DVD release easier. Series creator Chris Prynoski has sublimated the lack of an official DVD release by way of offering a promotional DVD viahis blog which includes all episodes of the series in DVD quality.
