He is a genuine (medical) "computernik." . I was asked as a favor to review his manuscript and suggest any needed changes before it was sent to a publisher. (He was not at that time planning to send it to Springer-Verlag.) Reading it was one of those pleasures I usually associate with a review article that finally explains those things about a subject that I was aware of but never really understood.
