In the present work, characterization using electrochemical technique in conjunction with electronic spectroscopy and computational studies was done to suggest a redox mechanism and to develop a structure activity relationship. DNA binding studies showed high values of binding constant that is suggestive of uracils being more effective anticancer drugs in comparison to the clinically used drugs.
