It was a qualitative research, characterized as interpretative and critical and was carried out, especially, through bibliographic research and field research, using questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. The study approached historical aspects of Special Education from an inclusive perspective in Brazil, explaining, in a contextualized manner, important aspects of the process of inclusion of the person with disability in the country and also about the Policy of Diversity and Inclusion of the IF Baiano and the Implementation of the Nucleus of Assistance to People with Specific Needs - Napne. The main challenge of this attempt was to reveal if and how the Policy of Inclusion contributes to the successful permanence of students with disability in the process of teaching learning.
