Being charmed by the museums of West Bengal, after intensive travel over a period of two years, the author wrote the 'Directory of Museums of West Bengal (India)'. It was prepared by assembling all the relevant information required for visiting or studying a museum. When going through this directory, one can have the feeling of actually being in museum. In all - museums from cities, towns, and villages of West Bengal are covered. The obviously important museums as well as those that are not usually visited are covered by this Directory.

Autor

Mahua Chakrabarti is currently working as a Reader in the Department of Museology, University of Calcutta. She is also engaged in postdoctoral research work.Dr. (Ms.) Chakrabarti has published a number of articles in Museology and Art History and authored three books, out of which two were published from Germany.
