The shortage of skilled workers in the hotel industry, the Covid-19 pandemic and changing guest expectations have driven the implementation of digital applications. This book deals with the use of digital applications in the reception and service area with the aim of supporting employees in completing recurring administrative tasks and thus being able to offer them more time for guest service again. An online survey of business guests of the harry's home hotels hotel group determined what wishes and requirements this target group has for digitalization in the hotel. In addition, corresponding recommendations for action for the hotel industry were derived from five expert interviews. This research showed that personal contact is still crucial and that digital solutions should be implemented slowly, with a comprehensive communication strategy and as an alternative option.
