The study also emphasises the correlation between diet and muscle development, since it has been proven that this development, particularly in children, is extremely influenced by the availability and quality of food. The gastrocnemius muscle (MG) of wistar rats (Rattus norvegicus) was chosen because previous studies have shown that it has the same type of muscle fibres as the same muscle fibres in humans.
