This results in increased hepatic blood flow resistance and portal hypertension. The pattern of fibrosis seen depends on the underlying insult that resulted in cirrhosis. Fibrosis can also proliferate if the underlying process causing it has been resolved. FibroTest is a biomarker test that can be used for the diagnosis of liver fibrosis. Close follow-up is necessary for its treatment.
