In order for SMEs to do great and also survive the 'hostility', they need to fulfil the demands of the market which can be done by creating values and capabilities. The performance of these companies must be evaluated to see where is going wrong and needs to either be improved or eliminated. The same would be carried out in a developed country to see why theirs is working and Nigeria isn't by comparing and hopefully pick out that which could be helpful to implement in Nigeria. A PM model which according to Neely in 2002 aims to increase the performance by identifying the weaknesses and improving them would be proposed to this aim.
