Mobile banking refers to the use of a smartphone or other cellular device to perform online banking tasks. These tasks include balance enquiry, funds transfer, bill payment, locating an ATM etc. Considering the high rate of adoption of this technology, a lot of concerns are raised as regards data security, authentication mechanisms, data integrity etc. This research therefore introduces an enhanced secure model to help overcome challenges as regards data security, data integrity and user authentication. In other to achieve the set goals, the proposed model uses a standard salted SHA-512 (Secure Hash Algorithm) Cryptographic Hash Algorithm to hash confidential information such as account information, and passwords. An Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) technique was also used for encryption and decryption so as to ensure data transmitted are secure and safe. One Time Password (OTP) was used to further strengthen user authentication. The design was implemented using PHP, JavaScript, CSS and MySQL database.
