Thus, this book seeks to aid in understanding the current situation and provide methodological tools for an autonomous and original regional project, in order to expand the continent's insertion into the capitalist interstate system and seek to reverse the subordinate trajectory of its dependent capitalism and underdevelopment within the world economy. The expectation is for a project in which the fight against inequality, the search for the deconstruction of regional asymmetries, the construction of a regional identity, and the establishment of complementarity, cooperation, and self-determination among peoples and nations represent a common goal. This is the central role of development and integration in Latin America.
