The essence of this work is to determine the importance of heat treatment and the volume fraction of reinforcements in enhancing the properties of the material. In general, the properties of as-cast composites show poor mechanical as well as wear properties and there is a need to improve the properties. Hence, it is felt that study the effect of heat treatment and hybrid reinforcement in composite could be beneficial for their application in the automobile, aerospace and general engineering sectors.
