Der Band bietet erstmalig den diplomatischen Text des vollständigen Codex Vindobonensis 2681, der die anonyme bairische Übersetzung und Bearbeitung der Wiener Notker Psalmen aus dem Kloster Wessobrunn (um 1100), sowie die Cantica (Lobgesänge), die katechetischen Denkmäler und die Wessobrunner Predigten enthält. Die neue Ausgabe folgt Richard Heinzels und Wilhelm Scherers kritischer Erstausgabe der Wiener Notker Psalmen (1876) und Paul Pipers Notkerausgabe (Wiener Psalmen, 3. Band, 1883). Bisher sind die Texte des Wiener Codex noch nie in der erhaltenen Reihenfolge diplomatisch abgedruckt worden. Die interessante Textsammlung verdeutlicht die überlieferungsgeschichtlichen Gegebenheiten und gibt wichtige Hinweise auf die Entstehung und Verwendung der Texte. Dem Band ist eine CD beigefügt, die den digitalisierten Text und den gesamten Wortschatz enthält, um weitere Untersuchungen zu erleichtern.
This volume presents the first diplomatic text of the complete Codex Vindobonensis 2681 which contains the anonymous Bavarian translation and adaptation from the Abbey of Wessobrunn of the Vienna Notker Psalms (ca 1100) together with the Cantica, catechistic texts and Wessobrunn Sermons. The new edition follows the first critical edition of the Vienna Notker Psalms by Richard Heinzel and Wilhelm Scherer (1876) and Paul Piper’s Notker edition (Vienna Psalms, vol 3, 1883). Until now, the texts in the Vienna Codex have never been published in a diplomatic edition following the order of the manuscript. This interesting collection of texts clarifies the facts of the texts’ transmission and offers important suggestions about the creation and use of the texts. The volume is accompanied by a CD containing the digitised texts and complete vocabulary to enable further study.
