Advanced methods for the detection and measurement of chemicals derived from plants are thoroughly examined in this study. The need to employ environmentally friendly solvents that are suited to the particular polarity and stability requirements of target chemicals is emphasized, along with the crucial elements of sample preparation and solvent selection. Modern approaches, including extraction using supercritical fluids, ultrasound, and microwave-assisted techniques, are contrasted with conventional extraction methods in this debate. These modern approaches provide increased efficiency, lower solvent usage, and greater selectivity. Furthermore, by facilitating accurate and trustworthy compound characterization, the combination of high-resolution systematic methods, such as mass spectrometry, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and various spectrophotometric systems, has greatly advanced the field. Notwithstanding these advancements, there are still issues, mainly with repeatability, maintaining bioactivity during extraction, and transferring laboratory techniques to commercial settings without sacrificing chemical integrity.
