Autorenporträt
Dr. Saurabh Basu is a senior professor in the Department of Physics, IIT Guwahati. Dr. Basu received his Ph.D. from IIT Kanpur, subsequent to which, he was a postdoctoral at TIFR, India, and Queens University, Canada. He joined IIT Guwahati in 2003. His research was in the field of theoretical Condensed Matter Physics, with emphasis on superconductivity, magnetism, topological materials and Bose-Einstein condensates. He has published more than 130 research papers in various international physics journals of repute, along with some self-authored books . Dr. Basu is a regular referee in different journals of IOP, North Holland Press, Springer, Elsevier, etc.  Dr. Achalkumar Ammathnadu Sudhakar is working as a full professor at the Department of Chemistry, IIT Guwahati, from 2019, where he leads the Soft Matter Research Group. He is also associated with the Centre for Sustainable Polymers at IIT Guwahati. He received his Ph.D. from Centre for Nano and Soft Matter Sciences (CeNS) Bengaluru. He worked as Postdoctoral Researcher at the Centre for Molecular Nano Sciences, University of Leeds, Leeds, UK (2007 to 2009) and at RIKEN Advanced Science Institute, Wakoshi, Japan (2009 to 2011), before joining IIT Guwahati. He has been the recipient of Indian Liquid Crystal Society Silver Medal 2019, CRS Silver Medal 2023, Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry and Fellow of Indian Chemical Society for his research achievements. His research interests fall in the broad area of liquid crystals, supramolecular chemistry, functional polymers, organogels and self-assembled organic semiconductors. Dr. Subrata Pramanik is an assistant professor at the Jyoti and Bhupat Mehta School of Health Sciences and Technology and is an associated faculty at the Centre for Nanotechnology, IIT Guwahati, Assam, India. He obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Pharmaceutical Technology from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. Later, he completed an integrated M.Sc.-Ph.D. in Biomedical Science from Hanyang University, Seoul, South Korea. He obtained his second doctorate, i.e., Doctor of Natural Sciences in Protein Engineering, from RWTH Aachen University, Germany. Subsequently, he did postdoctoral research in Developmental Neurobiology from Örebro University, Sweden. His major research interests include neuroscience, biomedical genomics, molecular biology, cell biology, transcriptomics, proteomics, and genetics. So far, he has published multiple papers in respected international journals and several book chapters. In 2023, he was elected as a Life Fellow of the Indian Chemical Society (FICS), Indian Chemical Society, Kolkata, India. Dr. Lalit M. Pandey is an associate professor at the Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering, IIT Guwahati. He received his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the IIT Delhi. He was awarded an Erasmus Mundus India4EU fellowship to pursue research at the Laboratoire des Matériaux et du Génie Physique (LMGP), Grenoble-INP, France from 2010 to 2012. Before joining the IIT Guwahati, he worked as a Scientist with the Central Pollution Control Board, Ministry of Environment & Forests, Government of India from 2009 to 2014, and researched on water and air pollution in agro-based industries. He has received several awards, including the BRSI Malaviya Memorial Award (Young Faculty) 2020, Shastri Covid-19 Pandemic Response Grant (SCPRG) 2020, the DST-UKIERI Award (2018), the IEI (The Institution of Engineers [India]) Young Engineers Award (2017), Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) Faculty Award (2014).
