Juan Cristobal Napoles Fajardo (Cucalambe) was born in Victoria de las Tunas in 1829 and disappeared without a trace at the age of 32. This annotated edition reproduces the one published (1938) by Jose Muniz Vergara, a veteran of the Cuban wars of independence and contains the best selection of the decimas of Rumores del Hormigo.
