He is currently manager of the DIT's bio-potential research facility, where the main focus is the classification of electroencephalograms to facilitate communication by people with degenerative illnesses. He is a founding member of the TeaPOT research group, which focuses on people oriented technologies ( ). The group has affiliations with Enable Ireland Dublin as well as a number other Irish universities.
