This book offers a socio-historic background that begins with the establishment of the US-Mexico border to some of the most recent events related to the ongoing immigration debate between these countries. Furthermore, it explains how the first attempts to bring under control the flow of people across the then new 1951-mile border between Mexico and the United States originated the role of human smugglers, the evolution of their functions over time, and the changing dynamics of one of the busiest and controversial borders of the world. Juan Villa is an Arizona-based journalist, researcher and author. He holds a bachelor degree in journalism and a master¿s degree in Mexican American Literature. He has worked in print, radio and television media.
