Volume I of the new CEREPS BOOK SERIES comprises high value presentations of recent CEREPS Summits (Hungary-Budapest 2020; Slovakia-Bratislava 2021, and Ireland-Cork 2022). All three summits referred to different meanings, dimensions and aspects of the topic "Quality Physical Education" from national and international perspectives documented by umbrella organisations (i.e. OECD, UNESCO, WHO, FIEPS, EUPEA). The Hungarian School Sport Federation hosted the Summit in 2020 when the Corona pandemic already affected the status of school-based physical education (PE) and school sports with two important waves of lockdowns in 2020 and early 2021. Not surprisingly, at the Bratislava Summit in October 2021, the topic of the crisis in PE impacted by COVID-19 dominated the agenda with review reports in how far national health and education policies stopped regularly teaching in PE and school sports. The effect of Covid-19 on PE and indoor physical activity and outdoor school settings were reported from different national countries across Europe (Germany, France, Belgium, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Spain), and from a comparative European perspective. The Bratislava Summit was hosted by FIEPS Europe and the Comenius University. To counteract the clash downs of PE at school, a steering committee was set up in Bratislava to develop a CEREPS consensus statement on how to recover PE during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. One major topic of the following Summit in Cork (2022) were workshops to document the many aspects of the CEREPS consensus statement with actions to restore the former quality status of PE at European schools from a student`s, PE teachers`, parents` and scholarly point of view. The anthology is divided into three parts according to the main topics of the Summits. Band I der neuen CEREPS-BUCHSERIE enthält hochwertige Präsentationen der jüngsten CEREPS-Gipfel (Ungarn-Budapest 2020, Slowakei-Bratislava 2021 und Irland-Cork 2022). Alle drei Gipfeltreffen bezogen sich auf unterschiedliche Bedeutungen, Dimensionen und Aspekte des Themas "Qualitativer Sportunterricht" aus nationalen und internationalen Perspektiven, die von Dachorganisationen (z. B. OECD, UNESCO, WHO, FIEPS, EUPEA) dokumentiert wurden. Der ungarische Schulsportverband war Gastgeber des Gipfels im Jahr 2020, als die Corona-Pandemie bereits den Status des schulischen Sportunterrichts und des Schulsports mit zwei großen Schließungswellen im Jahr 2020 und Anfang 2021 beeinträchtigte. Es überrascht nicht, dass auf dem Gipfel in Bratislava im Oktober 2021 das Thema der Krise des Sportunterrichts unter dem Einfluss von COVID-19 die Tagesordnung beherrschte, mit Berichten darüber, inwieweit die nationalen Gesundheits- und Bildungspolitiken den regulären Sportunterricht und den Schulsport eingestellt haben. Aus verschiedenen europäischen Ländern (Deutschland, Frankreich, Belgien, Tschechische Republik, Slowakei, Spanien) und aus einer vergleichenden europäischen Perspektive wurde über die Auswirkungen von Covid-19 auf den Sportunterricht und die körperliche Betätigung in Innenräumen und an Schulen im Freien berichtet. Der Gipfel in Bratislava wurde von FIEPS Europe und der Comenius Universität ausgerichtet. Um dem Niedergang von PE in der Schule entgegenzuwirken, wurde in Bratislava ein Lenkungsausschuss eingesetzt, der eine CEREPS-Konsenserklärung zur Wiederherstellung von PE während und nach der COVID-19-Pandemie erarbeiten sollte. Ein Hauptthema des folgenden Gipfels in Cork (2022) waren Workshops zur Dokumentation der vielen Aspekte der CEREPS-Konsenserklärung mit Maßnahmen zur Wiederherstellung des früheren Qualitätsstatus des Sportunterrichts an europäischen Schulen aus der Sicht von Schülern, Sportlehrern, Eltern und Wissenschaftlern. Der Sammelband ist in drei Teile gegliedert, die sich an den Hauptthemen der Gipfeltreffen orientieren.
