Education at the graduate level in Venezuela constitutes a period of advanced studies whose purposes, structure, and operation are defined in the National Constitution, the Organic Law on Education, the General Regulations on Graduate Studies for Universities and Institutions duly authorized by the National Council of Universities, the Law on Universities, and the Regulations on Graduate Studies at each institution of university education. Postgraduate studies play an extremely important role in the transformation processes demanded by public policies in Venezuela, because it is through the generation of knowledge resulting from permanent research as a necessary strategy for intellectual production that significant contributions will be made to the effective solution of increasingly complex problems in a demanding society. This work is recommended to teachers, curriculum designers and researchers who wish to obtain an integral perspective of the process of curriculum design and the challenges faced by this process, which is so important for the creation of new graduate careers.
