This book sheds light on current issues in sustainable finance through an in-depth analysis and discussion of relevant sustainable products and sustainable initiatives of several financial institutions. This edited collection critically presents and discusses several relevant theoretical issues, case studies of innovative financial products and sustainable institutions, as well as empirically investigates issues related to both financial and social performance. The book focuses on several innovative products across the sustainable finance ecosystem, including social impact bonds, crowdfunding and green bonds. Similarly, the book spotlights the sustainable investment strategies of institutions ranging from family foundations to asset managers.

Autor

Mario La Torre is Professor of Banking and Finance and Sustainable Finance at Sapienza University of Rome, Italy, and author of the blog Good in Finance. His research revolves around banking, financial intermediaries and financial innovation. Also an expert in ethical finance, microfinance and finance for the audiovisual industry, Mario is series editor of Palgrave Studies in Impact Finance. He is a member of the Board of the Italian National Body for Microcredit, and was previously a member of the G8 Taskforce on Social Impact Investments. As well as publishing in academic journals, Mario is the co-editor of Socially Responsible Investments (Palgrave, 2019) and Contemporary Issues in Sustainable Finance (2020). Helen Chiappini is Assistant Professor at G. D'Annunzio University of Chieti-Pescara, Italy, where she teaches Sustainable Finance and Corporate Finance. Helen is the sub-series editor of Palgrave Studies in Green Finance and GuestEditor of Sustainability. Her areas of research include sustainable finance, bank non-performing loans and corporate governance. As well as publishing in academic journals, she has written and co-edited three books: Social Impact Funds (Palgrave, 2017), Socially Responsible Investments (Palgrave, 2019), and Contemporary Issues in Sustainable Finance (2020) .
