Ambassador Michael Gfoeller (ret.), born in 1957, is a seasoned diplomat, scholar, and independent consultant renowned for his expertise in international politics, security, and economics. His postings included two stints in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he served as Deputy Chief of Mission and Chargé d'Affaires (2004-2008), managing U.S.-Saudi relations during a pivotal period of counterterrorism cooperation.
