Garbage has become a burning issue at the present context. Governmental and nongovernmental organizations have introduced many strategies to manage garbage. But, still the critical nature of the problem has not been reduced. Most of the time, these organizations do not receive much support from the public. One of the reasons behind this might be the lack of communication to people regarding the garbage management.

Pushpika Kumari Ganegoda is currently working as a Lecturer in Communication Studies, at Trincomalee campus of Eastern University, Sri Lanka. She has obtained a B.A. degree in Communication Studies from Eastern University, and an M. Phil. in Development Communication from Post Graduate Institute of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka.
