The cases presented in this book were collected during my two year fellowship training in hand surgery at Cook County Hospital, Chicago and in private practice in Fairmont, West Virginia from 1969 through 2005. Each case presented here is unique and not seen routinely in regular text books or medical journals. I consider these pictures to be priceless. Therefore, I compiled these cases into a book with color photographs. My wish is to share these impossible injuries with my colleagues, friends and patients. I hope all of my friends will appreciate and value them as I do. Most frostbite patients presented here were associated with ethanol intoxication.
