However, while focusing on Europe, cary does not hesitate to depict the Yoruba historical perspective. In addition to references to Yoruba history, Cary examines overt resistance to imperialism. Cary's novels calls up imperial preconceptions to underline their foolishness and the foolishness of a Europe that does not see a humanized colonies and its colonies' abilities.
