Nanoemulsion is preferred than other formulations as it has several advantages like it provides a better chance for the lipophilic drug to be solubilised easily in oily phase as well as rapidly absorbed by allowing a more intimate and prolonged contact between the drug and the mucosal membrane. Problems related to the poor solubility and bioavailability of variety of polyphenols after oral administration can be solved with lipidic formulations.
