The current intention in the Spanish context is to ensure that all schools provide bilingual education, generally in English but with the possibility of choosing French, German, etc. More specifically, in the region of Andalusia, the evolution of English bilingual schools has increased significantly from around 100 in the 2004/05 school year to 1105 English bilingual schools in the 2020/21 school year. Furthermore, the number of Andalusian bilingual public secondary schools where Physical Education is taught in English as L2 is 74,03% in the school year 2020/2021. Additionally, the Physical Education (PE) subject seems to be the most appropriate area to promote second language learning through CLIL in bilingual programmes. Concerning bilingual education development, one of the main factors that students most demand, teachers, families and schools is the need to provide high-quality bilingual teacher training programmes in CLIL. Therefore, we believe that it is essential to createspecific CLIL teacher training for these PE teachers or future teachers differentiated from other training where they could design and create realistic educational resources adapted to the PE subject.
