Here is in short the short story of how I came to work with the wonder plant water hemlock. I had no hint concerning this discovery. At the end of the 1980s I worked as a doctor in the north of Tyumen region in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area where I witnessed lethal poisoning of two boys by rootstock of water hemlock. I got interested in the strong toxin contained in this plant. My next idea was that if the water hemlock poison appears to be so strong it may contain drastic curative substances. Then I thought about curing cancer; perhaps it could bring good. For this reason I decided to remove from a semi-finished product (spirit tincture of water hemlock) the toxic substance - cicutoxin. It took me several years, but finally using the latest achievements of organic chemistry I could manage to remove the drastic toxic substance and to receive this antitumoral medicine for treatment of oncological patients and people suffering from other diseases. The medicine without the toxic substance is harmless for the human organism. An accidental tragedy made me think about possibility of using cicuta vtrosa for production of antitumoral medicine.
