My name is Kyleigh, and I started Kyleigh's Kydz after my aunt began fostering children. One night, while staying at her house, I woke up around midnight and noticed children asleep in the playroom. The next morning, I found three extra kids at the breakfast table. They had arrived with nothing but the clothes on their backs-no toothbrushes, no toothpaste, and no hygiene items. They looked scared, and my heart broke for them.I knew I had to do something. I didn't want any child to feel that fear or to go without the basic things everyone deserves. That's when Kyleigh's Kydz was born - a mission to provide care boxes for foster children of all ages. Each box includes hygiene products for boys or girls, and most importantly, a comfort item. Going into a new home is scary, and I wanted every child to have something that was theirs - something to hold onto, something to bring them comfort.I later wrote Cheyenne's Brave Heart to help explain to classroom children what a foster child is and what foster children go through. I also decided to make the book about a child who discovers what it means to be brave and kind by helping someone else. We all go through challenges, but it's how we face them that shapes who we become.Thank you for reading Cheyenne's story and for supporting Kyleigh's Kydz.
