Since the show''s inception, only the central protagonist, Ash Ketchum, his main Pokémon, Pikachu, and his principal antagonists - Jessie, James, and Meowth - have regularly appeared in every season. In 2006, with the beginning of the Battle Frontier season, almost all of the original voice cast was replaced in relation to the previous English-production company, 4Kids Entertainment, being dropped by The Pokémon Company. In 2009, TAJ Productions disbanded, and this thus caused DuArt Film and Video to replace them as the production company in charge, starting with DP: Battle Dimension, plus, 4Kids related actors returned to guest starring role status, however, the previous cast chosen by PUSA was still present. English names are given before the Japanese names in Western order (given name before surname), when possible.
