A Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, Tosh has expertise in urban history and heritage and has appeared as an expert contributor for BBC TV and Radio (Match of the Day 2, Great British Railway Journeys, Who Do You Think You Are? BBC Radio 4's 'Today' programme, BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC Local Radio), ITV and Channel 5. He is author of numerous articles and several books on Teesside's heritage
