Sites were constructed and built by the Army Corps of Engineers in the late 1950s similar to what exists on the Miller property. Thus making it possible for the Millers to acquire the property once again. So, today the Miller family is converting the instillation to a more peaceful use as a ranch, factory and a theme park. With the influx of the Afghan population, the family is further using it as an educational center and a place where dreams can come true. Unfortunately, in the final chapters of the novel the Millers discover Sam's story is but a day dream and their journey to Cherryvale takes a sudden and surprise ending. But fortunately as with most stories by this author, they live happily ever after.
