Weigand saw as they walked along the streets of Roskilde on their way to the Viking museum, and you will also see some of what they saw at the museum! You see, around the year 1070, five Viking ships were sunk at Skuldelev in Roskilde Fjordi to block the entrance and protect Roskilde from enemy attack from the sea. Excavated in 1962, and you can now see them in the Viking Ship Museum.
