There was no longer any doubt about the Hebrew admiration for José Martí, but the constant search for information showed that it was not only for him, but for all national elements, patriotic symbols and Cuban historical personalities such as Antonio Maceo Grajales to whom Abraham Marcus Matterín referred, vice-president of the Hebrew Cultural Association of Cuba, as "the great mulatto", and was the subject, like Martí and the Cuban flag,of the inspired poetic pen of Eliezer Aronowsky, a Polish Jewish poet who emigrated to Cuba, as well as other Hebrew poets and painters.
