There is also a speech, a quiz, a questionnaire, flash fiction, and vignettes. They are written with wry humor and stylistic elegance, and the novel moves at a brisk pace. Autor

Danton Remoto was educated at Miami University and Rutgers University in the United States, as well as at the University of Stirling in the United Kingdom, Ateneo de Manila University and University of the Philippines. He has published a novel called Riverrun and a book of stories called The Heart of Summer. He has worked as a Publishing Director at Ateneo, Head of Communications at the United Nations Development Programme, TV and radio host at TV5 and Radyo 5, President of The Manila Times College and Head of School of English at the University of Nottingham in Malaysia. He is the first Filipino to head the School of English of a British university. He also translated the 1906 novel of Lope K. Santos, Banaag at Sikat, into English (Radiance and Sunrise), as well as the two novels of Philippine National Artist Amado V. Hernandez: Mga Ibong Mandaragit (The Preying Birds) and Luha ng Buwaya (Crocodile's Tears). These were published as part of the Southeast Asian Classics of Penguin Random House Southeast Asia. He has been a fellow at the Cambridge Summer Seminar on Literature and the Hawthornden Castle in the United Kingdom, as well as the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference and the MacDowell Arts Residency in the United States. He divides his time between Southeast Asia and the United States.
