Evidently, it is impossible to deepen in each of the three families of causes but several practical cases are presented trying to be didactic and delightful at the same time. Also, people in the maritime world usually do not have an extensive knowledge of statistics. It is also difficult to model the accidents mathematically since each one has different characteristics, angles, and surely there are not two equal. The book concentrates on the Bowtie Model which is not very complex from the statistical point of view and may be useful to represent visually the threats and find solutions, at different levels and branches of the events.
