Ferritin is taken as an inflammatory marker to evaluate the progress of acute myocardiac infaction Significan alteration of in iron status is observed in AMi patients.Therefore, iron status including the levels of ferritin reflect lipid peroxidation and could act as one of the markers of AMI in Libyan subjects.

Dr. Abdalla M. Jarari is a Professor of Biochemistry, Faculty of Medicine, Benghazi University, Benghazi, Libya. He had his education in UK including his doctoral and postdoctoral work. He held many positions in the University including Head of the Department and as a Director of Postgraduate Studies. He has got many publications.
