Here we present a comparative study of fixation, with bioresorbable plates and titanium miniplates, for treatment of mandibular fractures. It was carried out to compare the efficacy of bioresorbable plates with titanium miniplates for adaptability, effect on fracture line, cost, complications. With our observations it can be concluded that bioresorbable plates exhibit negligible complications, good handling properties, no sensitivity in cold weather and good result in the management of mandibular fracture. On the other hand, titanium plates have shown better stability of fractured fragments.Since, titanium miniplates are much cheaper as compared to Bioreobsorable plates, those patients who are not able to afford Bio-resorbable plates, the titanium miniplates can be their choice of treatment, which is equally good.
