Upon inspecting a charred part of the forest near their home; Belanna and her father, Marty a forest ranger, encounter a scorched and injured rabbit. Weeks later Belanna and her father attempt to release the rabbit into the forest, the rabbit repeatedly tries to follow Belanna. Belanna's father concludes their only option is to adopt the rabbit. With great enthusiasm Belanna tells her father what the name for the rabbit should be and pleads with him to hurry home so they can tell her mother.
