This book is important to me because each of these characters carries a piece of my story as they tell their own. Stories of surviving against the odds, and resilience through dire circumstances; violence, abuse, misogyny, hostility, injuries, and illness. Stories of transgender and transsexual people overcoming the odds that were stacked so high against them. This First Edition print copy includes a new character, Genevieve, another voice from the community who illuminates a different angle of it.
