The objective of each lesson focuses on specific aspects of the elements of art and the principles of design. The elements of art are the building blocks of composition. They include line, shape, texture, color, form, and value. The principles of design guide how the elements are to be used. They include unity, focal point, variety, contrast, balance, movement, rhythm, pattern, proportion, and perspective. Because the child of God desires to see the glory of his Maker in creation, the lessons also place a strong emphasis on observation.
