At 42 years old, I've lived with spina bifida my entire life, relying on a wheelchair to get around. My home is in Aylett, Virginia, where I've found solace in writing. I've published three books so far, and I'm not slowing down - I'm currently working on new projects. One of my proudest moments was serving as a spokesperson for an Ohio-based foundation that helped people in need learn to walk. It was an incredible opportunity to give back and make a difference. Another highlight of my life was becoming the first wheelchair-bound cheerleader in Texas. It was an exhilarating experience that showed me I'm capable of achieving anything I set my mind to.
