The aim of this study is to use ultrasound diagnostics, which has been routinely used in medicine for many years, to monitor and quantify the extent of osteopathic influence on the liver in the transverse plane as defined by Barral. The aim is to gather evidence for the mechanism of action of osteopathy. In the study, which included 155 subjects, a statistically significant change in the position of the liver was observed in response to manipulation in the transverse plane, thus providing evidence for the effectiveness of osteopathy.
